An action drama based in the old west, it follows the goings on of seven Texan ranchers, who have been left poverty stricken by the just concluded War Between the States. The leader of this group is a retired confederate colonel and he convinces his fellow ranchers to drive their herd of cattle from Texas to Kansas, to protest the delays in construction of the railway line into Texas. Along the way they encounter trouble with tribes of Native American Indians, only to realize that the railroad company will not do anything for the Texans.
